The Moving Brain
Exploring the concept of neuroplasticity—how the brain reshapes and adapts in response to our movements and experiences. This inquiry is deeply personal, reflecting my journey as a migrant from Mexico to the United States. Through this lens, I investigate the transformative power of migration, both as a physical journey and as an internal evolution.
The migrant brain, in its constant state of adaptation, becomes a metaphor for resilience and growth. I seek to understand how my experiences—cultural dislocation, new environments, and the blending of identities—have reconfigured my perceptions and creative expression. Each piece I create is an exploration of how these shifts in my brain manifest in my artistry, revealing the intricate connections between memory, identity, and the malleability of the human experience.
By translating these ideas into visual form, I invite viewers to reflect on their own narratives of change and the ways in which our experiences shape who we are. Through this exploration, I aim to illuminate the beauty and complexity of the migrant journey, emphasizing that our brains, much like our lives, are ever-evolving landscapes.

Who we Are When we Are in Silence.
Who are we when we don't speak,
when we don't make noise,
when we stay still,
when no one listens to us,
when we breathe deeply,
when we don't want to talk,
when we are alone with our minds.

Skin Intervention
My body serves as one of the main means of production, transforming my skin into a canvas for exploration and expression. Living with dermatrographia.—a condition where any contact leaves a mark—I engage in a dialogue with my corporeality, using my skin to "draw" and translate concepts into visual form. Each impression becomes a reflection of my experiences, a tangible reminder of the temporality of touch.
This practice invites me to investigate the human body as a site of meaning and transformation. My skin acts as both a bridge and a conceptual trigger, allowing me to explore new possibilities of understanding our physical selves and the fleeting nature of contact. Through this process, I seek to challenge conventional notions of identity and representation, emphasizing the intimate relationship between our bodies and our experiences.
By translating the ephemeral nature of marks into art, I aim to provoke reflection on the complexities of corporeality, vulnerability, and the connections we share with one another. In each piece, I celebrate the beauty of impermanence and the power of the body as a vessel of expression.
“Re-drawing On-Self”
In this body of work, I explore the intricate relationship between the human form and the concepts of identity and embodiment. Drawing inspiration from the theories surrounding the construction of the human body, I engage with the idea of “drawing in expansion,” a method that transcends traditional boundaries of representation.
Utilizing dermatographia, I invite the body to become both canvas and subject. Each piece is an exploration of movement and transformation, where the act of drawing becomes a dynamic dialogue between the existing form and the marks that emerge upon it. By sketching a shape upon the silhouette of the body, I create a layered conversation: a figure on a figure, reflecting not only the physicality of the body but also the emotional and psychological landscapes that inhabit it.
This practice emphasizes the fluidity of identity and the transient nature of the human experience. As the lines stretch and evolve with each movement, they symbolize the ever-changing journey of the self, revealing the complexity of our existence. Through this work, I invite viewers to contemplate their own bodies as living sculptures, dynamic and capable of infinite expressions, while simultaneously acknowledging the shared human experience that connects us all.

Stretch and Reach
The body is the exhibition of existence, a living canvas that embodies our experiences, emotions, and identities. This profound understanding compels me to examine the body as a limit—a boundary that both defines and constrains. My work explores the dimensions that comprise the body, as well as those that lie beyond its physical form.
In my practice, I test these limits through drawing on my own body, particularly along my back, tracing lines that reflect my quest to explore dimensions and possibilities. Each stroke becomes an act of reaching, a way to stretch the boundaries of my understanding and to engage with the question of what is and what is not. This process is not merely about representation; it is an experiment in expanding my own limits, forging new pathways of thought and expression with every mark.
I am continuously challenged to push further, to redefine what is possible, and to embrace the fluidity of the body as it exists in space and time. Ultimately, my work suggests that the body is not an object confined to finite thought; rather, it is a dynamic entity, rich with potential for exploration and transformation.

Study of the Figure with embroidery
In this project, the need to find new ways of intervening and drawing the body has become a profound exploration of connection and possibility. Initially, I believed I knew my body intimately, having dedicated myself to the self-exploration of its limits and forms. However, as I sought new methods of representation, I began to shift my perspective from viewing the body as a mere “limit” or “border” to understanding it as an object rich with connections and potential.
This transformation invites a dynamic conception of the body—one that is always in a state of expression and metamorphosis. It is a moldable, malleable entity that constantly evolves, reflecting the complexities of identity and experience.
Central to this project is the innovative use of material and technique. By printing photographs on fabric and employing embroidery, I introduce new lines and shapes that coexist with existing forms. This juxtaposition does not aim to create conflict between boundaries and figures; rather, it aspires to weave a new narrative that honors the intricacies of the body and its relationships.
Through this exploration, I seek to engage viewers in a dialogue about the fluidity of identity and the possibilities inherent in our physical forms, encouraging a deeper reflection on how we perceive and interact with our own bodies and the bodies of others.
